Down East Magazine, 2012, Camden was voted as the “#1 prettiest villages in Maine”

Camden is the quintessential Maine Coast Harbor Village. Walk from Green Gables and in minutes be in the center of town, where you’ll be surrounded by quaint shops and restaurants. Walk to the park by the harbor, and enjoy the peoplewatching and the views of Camden’s Windjammer schooner fleet, or shop at the farmer’s market or fresh seafood market.

The list of things to do is endless! Camden knows how to put on a show, with holiday parades and lobster boat races. Rent a kayak, or spend the day on a sailboat. Laite Beach is an easy stroll from the inn, for a swim and a picnic.

Camden makes a perfect jumping-off point for daytrips in and around Midcoast Maine. Explore the lighthouses of Marshall Point and Owl’s Head, or take the ferry from Rockland to Vinalhaven or North Haven. Stop in Belfast on your way to Bar Harbor for the annual Maine Celtic Celebration, or visit nearby Rockport for an outstanding lunch and a visit with the Belted Galloways. There are so many wonderful adventures waiting, and places to explore!
